Jeffrey Stadelman

About

The music of Jeffrey Stadelman has been performed by some of the leading contemporary music groups and solo performers throughout the U.S., and internationally. Speaking broadly, the composer has for twenty years been quietly creating a body of work, largely for chamber forces, that is notable for its painstaking craftsmanship, formal experimentation, and oblique beauties. Originally from rural Wisconsin (U.S.), Stadelman studied composition with Stephen Dembski at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and went on to receive the Ph.D. in Music from Harvard University, where his principal teachers were Donald Martino and Milton Babbitt, among others. He serves as Associate Professor of Music at the University at Buffalo, where he teaches composition and contemporary music.
