The APNM 2019 Electronic Music Call for Works Competition
in honor of Mario Davidovsky (1934 – 2019)
IS NOW OPEN

APNM’s annual Electronic Music Call for Works Competition in honor of Mario Davidovsky, who was an Honorary Board Member of APNM, is open to all composers, both current APNM members and non-members, regardless of nationality, age or career stage. The winners of the competition will have their pieces diffused/performed at APNM’s Annual Electronic Concert on December 19, 2019 at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Composers are invited to submit up to three (3) original works in 2-channel audio of up to ten (10) minutes in duration. Any musical style and any format of electroacoustic music is acceptable, including fixed media, video, live electronics and works with live musical instruments, singers, actors or dancers. For works other than fixed media, the composer will be responsible for providing whatever performer(s)—and in particular cases what equipment—is needed for the performance of their piece. Works that are longer than 10 minutes will be considered, but shorter works will have a better chance of being programmed.

Non-members whose works are accepted for the concert will receive an invitation to join APNM with one year of complimentary membership. APNM membership includes the opportunity for professional music publication as well as additional chances for performance.

Application materials must be received by Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:59pm.
